The namesake of the site.
Super Mario All-Stars is a compellation of the original Super Mario
Bros. 1, 2, and 3 for the NES. It also
includes the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 3, which is known mainly
through-out the rest of the world as "The Lost Levels."
All the games have enhanced 16bit graphics and the ability to save your
progress, and items in SMB3. The game sold very well, and was updated
later on with Super Mario World
included.
Description for The Lost Levels:
This is the true sequel to Super Mario Bros. It looks and plays much
like the original. The graphics had been updated and enhanced, and
there were additions, such as the poison mushroom which would come out
of bricks and coin blocks and kill you. The game was also longer, had
more puzzle aspects, and was much more challenging. This was the reason
the game was never released as is for the NES. Nintendo thought the
game was too challenging for players outside Japan. So we ended up
getting a completely different game as our Super Mario Bros. 2
